In the final session, we will look at some of the key teachings of positive psychology. Positive psychology is the scientific study of happiness, and is comprised of a number of different techniques to help improve a person’s mindset and lifestyle in order to prevent them from becoming mentally unwell. We will be looking at how we can incorporate these techniques into lessons.

Dan Licence is a mental health adviser at Osborne Cawkwell. He runs training workshops for tutors, teachers and parents, writes regular blogs, and interviews people from the industry in an effort to help raise awareness of mental health problems.

He is also a qualified mindfulness teacher through the Mindfulness in Schools Project, and a facilitator at Ruby Wax’s Frazzled café, which is a mental health support group that incorporates mindfulness into its sessions.
